What is Blair Hall?

Blair Hall is a beautiful meeting space, kitchen and outdoor garden ideally suited for birthday parties, showers, receptions, anniversaries, and meetings. Groups are not to exceed 100 people.

What does it cost to rent?

The suggested donation is $200 plus a security deposit of $50 that will be returned providing the hall, kitchen and grounds are left clean and in good order. You may pay by Cash, Cheque (Cheques should be made payable to the “Olinda-Ruthven United Church.”) or

What is included?

You are welcome to use the dishes, flatware, punch bowls, coffee pots, salt and pepper shakers, bread baskets, tea towels, dish cloths, and garbage bags. There are 42 tables (30” x 48”) and 170 chairs for indoor use only, as well as a high chair and booster chair. A sound system is also available.

What is not included?

Use of the dishwasher, table clothes, and napkins.

What are my responsibilities?

1. Provide proof of homeowners, tenants, or special occasion liability insurance, with a minimum of $1,000,000 coverage.
   You are not covered by the church insurance policy.
2. Provide payment ($200 plus $50 deposit) at least 1 week in advance of the event.
3. Alcohol, smoking, and cannabis are strictly prohibited.
4. Leave the hall, kitchen, bathrooms, and garden as clean and tidy as you found them.
   Failure to do so will result in your deposit being forfeited. This means:

• Dishes, flatware, etc. are washed, dried, and returned to the cupboards.
• Dirty dish cloths and towels are placed in the laundry pouches.
• Kitchen counter tops, sinks, and floors are clean, including the hall floor.
• Tables and chairs are clean, taken down and stacked 10 high on the carts.
• Bathrooms are cleaned and garbage cans emptied.
• All garbage is picked up, bagged, and taken away.
• Carpeted areas are vacuumed e.g. church entrance, hallways.

NOTE FROM OUR INSURANCE PROVIDER

Anyone using the hall must provide a Certificate of Insurance or a letter from their personal insurer
confirming they have Personal Liability coverage in force with a minimum limit of $1,000,000.
This would become the primary liability coverage in the event of a loss while renting the church.

Under personal liability coverage, any bodily injury or property damage arising from your personal activities anywhere in the world are covered. This would include but not be limited to any bodily injury, or any property damage to premises or their contents which you are using, renting or have in your custody or control. Anyone who has a home, condominium, or tenant's insurance policy should have personal liability coverage.

If you do not have personal liability insurance, you will need to purchase a “special occasion” liability policy.
You may be able to obtain a quote and purchase coverage on line at hub.instantriskcoverage.com, or
through the PAL special occasion insurance program.
